Make Your Own Primal Kale Chips

Kale chips are the perfect guilt-free treat because they have the wonderful crunch and flavor of a traditional chip, but are much healthier for you. This is a 4-in-1 recipe; the basic ingredients and technique are the same, but the addition of different seasonings and toppings lets you make these your own.

Since going Paleo/Primal baked kale chips are a great snack to have anytime. To make kale good kale, keep the following in mind: - The kale leaves must be SUPER DRY. - Bake the kale at 350°F. - Cook the chips for 12 minutes. - Season AFTER the kale chips are out of the oven

Base Ingredients
  1. 2 cups Kale ripped into bite size pieces (chip size)
  2. 1 Tbsp olive oil Live Superfoods Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  3. Kosher salt to taste
  4. Ground pepper to taste…
...Garlic Parmesan
  1. 4 Tbsp Parmesan cheese
  2. 1 tsp garlic powder
...Spicy Taco
  1. 1 Tbsp Taco Seasoning
  2. 1 tsp red pepper
...Cajun Cheddar
  1. 1/4 C finely shredded cheddar
  2. 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
...Sea Salt and Vinegar
  1. Substitute Sea Salt for Kosher
  2. Lightly spray with balsamic vinegar (it’s pretty strong)
  3. * Unless otherwise noted, we recommend using organic, locally grown vegetables and organic grass feed meats and dairy (Primal) ingredients. Omit dairy, especially cheese ingredients, if you are Paleo.
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Then, remove the leaves from the stems and wash the leaves well in a few changes of water. Break Kale into bite size pieces (chip size).
  3. Thoroughly dry in a salad spinner (maybe even pat with a paper towel).
  4. Toss the dry leaves with olive oil and use your hands to distribute the oil evenly.
  5. Place on a cookie sheet, as flat as possible
  6. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 12 min or so (until the edges start to turn brown). Every oven will be a little different.
  7. Sprinkle salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
  8. Add optional additional ingredients
